Claire Sweeney Loves The Hustle Between Coronation Street And Dancing On Ice

Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney spilled the beans about finally making peace with the hustle between soap filming and training for Dancing on Ice. We know Claire’s character Cassie Plummer as the long-lost mother of Tyrone, who returned in 2023. Cassie is set to face more troubles as Tyrone leaves. Evelyn is already at odds with Cassie, which will definitely fuel up with time.

Recently, Sweeney revealed that she is loving the process of managing both shows, in a conversation with RadioTimes.com. The actress is giving her days to Coronation Street and nights to Dancing on Ice. She mentioned that she loves Corrie, and it is just as important to her. Sweeney said, “I did say to Colin, ‘Cassie, my character is evil. She’s awful. And I thought, ‘Oh God, people won’t vote for us!’ She shared that her character is so rough, so getting glammed up for Dancing on Ice with all smiles will be nice.

When asked about training, the Coronation Street actress expressed that it has been ‘physical’ and ‘mental’ hard work. She added, “The mental pressure is there because fear grips you when you least expect it, and it’s just conquering that fear and getting on with it, but I’m loving it.”

The Corrie actress is training for the competition with Colin Grafton, her professional partner. The duo hinted at an ‘empowering’ routine for their first performance. She said, “It’s all about taking charge and being in charge. So if I can channel that, it’ll help me through.” Are you excited for our very own Cassie’s first skating performance?
