Coronation Street Star John Savident Dies At 86
Coronation Street icon John Savident passed away at the age of 86 on February 21, 2024. The soap was famous for his role as Fred Elliott in the cobbles. His agent confirmed the news by releasing a statement. According to reports, John’s wife, Rona Hopkinson, and two children will carry on his legacy.
On February 23, 2024, the actor’s agent stated, “We are sad to announce the death of the actor John Savident, who died on Wednesday, 21 February; he was a much-loved husband and father of two and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.”
Moreover, let us tell you the Coronation Street soap actor was a police officer until he decided to pursue acting. Savident was a part of Coronation for more than 10 years. He impacted the show with his unofficial catchphrase ‘I Say.’ John made his first Weatherfield appearance in 1996 and was written off in 2006.
