Coronation Street: Lucy Fallon Reveals That ‘Bethany Has No Money!’
Bethany Platt made her shocking comeback to Coronation Street early this year. However, the reason for her sudden return is still unknown. In the recent episodes, we saw that Bethany is struggling financially and professionally. The Bethany actress Lucy Fallon revealed that her character is facing embarrassment as she had gone away to London to make something of herself, got a good job while she was there, and now she’s lost it all.
Additionally, the soap actress confirms that Bethany has no money, and hence, she is forced to stay in Weatherfield to live rent-free. Lucy added, “I think it’s more the embarrassment of it, she wants everyone to be proud of her and think that she’s doing really well.” The soap star mentioned that Bethany’s family has been through a lot over the past couple of months, so Bethany doesn’t want to burden them, too. This can be a solid reason why she is unable to open up about her life to her loved ones.
Bethany Publicises Daniel-Daisy-Ryan Love Triangle
In the most latest episodes of Coronation Street, Bethany takes a drastic step and pens down Daniel-Daisy-Ryan’s love triangle story as an assignment for a gossip magazine. Fallon explained, “I feel like Bethany’s initially doing it innocently out of absolute desperation. But also because she’s so intrigued by all of this to do with Daisy.” The actress highlighted the fact that Daisy and Bethany hate each other. Lucy does believe that her character is innocent, but subconsciously, she thinks it’s Bethany’s way of getting at Daisy.
The whole love triangle thing happened when Bethany was in London. Hence, all she knew was that Daisy cheated on her fiancé, Daniel, with Ryan Connor. In order to get the details, she uses Lauren. The Coronation Street actress said, “She definitely feels guilty about using Lauren because she feels like she has lured Lauren in a little bit and has offered to tutor her but then got the information out of her.” She added that Lauren thinks that Bethany is her friend and she can open up to her. But she is just using Lauren for information.
Additionally, Lucy hinted at a ‘heated row’ as the news breaks. The actress said that Bethany is quite defensive as she thinks that Daniel is acting like a bit of a snob because she is writing for Chit Chat magazine.
