Calum Lill On Joel’s Dark Storyline In Coronation Street
Calum Lill, the Joel Deering star from Coronation Street, just revealed his character’s ongoing dark storyline. The soap has finally revealed that Joel is the mystery guy behind Lauren Bolton’s disappearance and supposed murder. However, Nathan Curtis is blamed when Lauren’s hair is found in his van.
And guess who’s his solicitor? It’s Joel! Talking about his character advocating for Nathan, the soap star commented that it was a stroke of luck for Joel. He said, “He just happened to be in the right place at the right time, and he was sitting there representing a man who was being wrongly accused of the thing that he did.”
While the Coronation Street actor mentioned not caring much about Nathan, he acknowledged the potential impact on Roy’s freedom and Dee-Dee’s stress levels. He admitted feeling conflicted about Dee-Dee’s distress, but it seems that the issue might be resolved now.
On top of that, Joel doesn’t seem bothered at all by the wrong person being blamed. According to the star, his alter-ego has a way of justifying everything he’s ever done in his own mind. Joel thinks Nathan is the lowest of the low, calling him a groomer and a rapist.

The soap actor expressed his excitement about playing such a significant storyline in Coronation Street. He exclaimed, “I absolutely look forward to getting the scripts but I can’t even wait for the script. He also mentioned that he had to ask the producer if they could provide a detailed storyline overview.
The Corrie actor shares that he had documented everything that had occurred with Joel since last July in a book. He admits that, at times, he was in disbelief at Joel’s audacity, and it was hard to believe his actions when reading the scripts. Additionally, he expressed, “It is such a gift of a part.”
He describes the role as a great opportunity given to her by ITV and Coronation Street and expresses gratitude for the chance. The actor states, “I’ve also never been so happy and fulfilled.” Moreover, he hopes that Joel is skilled at hiding because he genuinely enjoys the work.
