Coronation Street star Sam Aston and his wife Briony have joyfully welcomed their baby girl, Hazel Marie Aston. The couple shared the heartwarming news on Instagram with beautiful photos from Hazel’s water birth. Fans and friends flooded the post with congratulatory messages.
The pair announced their pregnancy back in November. On May 14, 2024, in a collaborative IG post, Coronation Streets actor Sam and Briony penned, “Welcome to the world…Hazel Marie Aston 07.05.24 8lbs 15oz.” One of many fan wishes said, “Huge congratulations to you all. Hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the newborn bubble xxx.”
While another welcomes the baby into the ‘gorgeous’ family. However, the journey to this happy moment wasn’t without its challenges. The new parents had previously disclosed the heartbreaking loss of one twin early in the pregnancy due to Vanishing Twin Syndrome.
“We Found Ourselves Questioning What Could Have Been” Say Sam & Briony
The couple, already parents to son Sonny and daughter Daisy, have openly reflected on the ‘what ifs.’ Previously, the Coronation Street star’s wife revealed that without an early scan, she wouldn’t have known about the miscarriage. She explained that this pregnancy made her feel much sicker than her previous ones.
Sam added that they initially wondered what it would have been like to have twins, perhaps even one of each – a boy and a girl. The Coronation Street Chesney Brown actor said it felt bittersweet, but they were grateful that the surviving baby was healthy.
Briony and Sam always wondered if the surviving twin would ever feel lonely or question what might have been. They stated, “We found ourselves questioning what could have been while feeling grateful for what we’ve got.” Nevertheless, this new chapter brings relief and joy to their family.
