Coronation Street Star Alan Halsall Remembers Co-Star Bill Tarmey On His Birthday

Alan Halsall, the Coronation Street cast, recently posted a social media update remembering his friend Bill Tarmey. Bill was a legend on the show, playing Jack Duckworth. Unfortunately, the star passed away suddenly due to a heart attack while on holiday in Tenerife.

Recently, Alan shared a cute picture of him and Bill on what would have been the late actor’s 95th birthday. In the caption, he penned, “Happy Heavenly Birthday Bill. Miss ya mate, I think of you all the time.” Coronation Street fans must recall Jack and Vera as a power couple.

The actress Liz Dawn played the character of Vera. The pair argued sometimes, but that’s what made them real, right? After Vera passed away in 2008, Jack kept going for two more years in Coronation Street, but then he got diagnosed with something called non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

The final scene featured Vera coming back as a vision. As time passed, Bill had to leave the show because of his health and to take care of his son Carl, who was dealing with a brain tumor. Jack’s departure was emotional, but Bill expressed that he had the best 30 years playing Jack in Coronation Street.

I’ll be sorry to say goodbye.” At last, we wish Bill a happy heavenly birthday! Stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers for more Coronation Street updates & spoilers
