It has been three years since the fans have been waiting for Daddy’s Home 3. After the release of the Daddy’s Home sequel, the makers of the film have shown their interest in the third installment of the film series. However, it never happened. According to some fans, its story is over. And some thought the makers canceled because of the negative response from the critics. At the same time, some are still for it to return.
Daddy’s Home is an American comedy film series. Sean Anders served as the director of the film. Brian Burns, John Morris, and Anders himself have penned down the script of these films. It premiered on December 25, 2015, and managed to gross $242 million worldwide. Its sequel was released on November 10, 2017, and it grossed $180 million globally. However, both these films have received a negative response from the critics.
Daddy’s Home Season 3: Renewal Status!
After the release of the sequel, Sean Anders, the director of these films, has shown his interest several times in making the third part of this film series. He even pitched an idea for its story. However, the fans never get to hear about the official renewal of the film from the Paramount Networks. It seems like after the criticism received by the first two parts of the film, the network decided to cancel Daddy’s Home 3. But they haven’t announced this as well. So, the fans are quite confused about the fate of the film. Therefore, we only have to wait for the official announcement from the Paramount Network to know about the third film.
What Will Happen In It?
Sean Anders revealed that in the third part of this film, he would like to see old Mark and Will reuniting for Scarlet’s wedding. In an interview, he said. “I think it’d be sort of funny if we did what they did with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau and how they got back together afresh in life. It’d be hilarious if Mark and Will are older men to get back together and do Scarlet’s marriage. I think that’d be amusing to see with those guys.”
However, later in another interview, he said he was not sure and was kidding about the plot of Daddy’s Home 3. he said, “As far as for Daddy’s Home 3, I do not know if that is on the cards or not. We were kind of joking that perhaps the way to do that is 20 years in the future when Mark and Will are older adults, to do a kind of irritable old men gathering when one of the kids is getting married or something.”
Daddy’s Home Season 3: Release Date
Since the makers haven’t officially announced the third part of this film, therefore it is very hard to expect its release date. But if the makers renewed it later this year, the fans could expect to see Daddy’s Home 3 sometime in 2023. Till then, we can only hope for Paramount Pictures to announce the third part of this film officially.
