Days of Our Lives: Steve Burton RETURNS! Reprises The Role Of Harris Michaels

DOOL/Steve Burton

The big news is coming in for Days of Our Lives fans! Seasoned and much-loved actor Steve Burton is returning to Salem! Steve first appeared in DOOL in 1988 as Harris Michaels and pulled an eleven episode stint. Later, the famed actor reprised his role for the DOOL spin-off, Beyond Salem. He appeared in five episodes of the show, which streamed exclusively on Peacock.

Previously, Steve gained immense popularity and fan love for the portrayal of Jason Morgan on General Hospital. He played the role from 1992 till November 2021. His exit from GH made huge news and came as a shocker as no one saw it coming. Steve took to his Instagram account to address that he was fired due to the COVID mandate instilled by the production. He applied to be exempted from the vaccine mandate on the grounds of medical and religious reasons. However, his plea was rejected. Thus, ending his run as Jason.

He told Soap Opera Digest in a conversation. “I make references in the digital series to that character a couple of times, but it’s a new character.” Steve stated.
