He says someone else, instead of him, used his system to obtain such obscene material.
However, the court has continued to uphold its decision. After multiple failed attempts, Josh has continued to find ways to escape the prison he has been living in for a few years now. Duggar News: Court Has Denied Josh’s Multiple Appeals!
Eversince Josh Duggar went to prison, he has had a team of lawyers. They have been trying to find ways to ensure he gets an early prison release. So, they filed numerous appeals. Alas, the court continued to uphold its verdict and denied them all. On January 20, 2022, the team of attorneys had filed for acquittal. They emphasised that the evidence presented at trial did not support the conviction.
Then, when the court denied this request in May of the same year. However, in June 2022, Josh’s team of lawyers approached the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. To their dismay, the court denied this appeal yet again, and it happened in August 2022. Last but not least, Josh Duggar had appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court for the appeal, but they denied his hearing with no comment on June 24, 2024.
Duggar News: Josh Still Wants An Early Prison Release! Demands Court Attorney As He Can’t Afford Private Lawyer
As mentioned above, Duggar News followers know the courts have continued to deny Josh Duggar’s appeal. Well, the star has now demanded a court-appointed attorney, which the government has given. He ended up filing a motion on 20 May 2024 with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. Having no private lawyer representing him, he wanted a court-appointed one.
Josh stated that his “financial circumstances” were the reason for his taking this path. He needs legal help to determine whether any of his rights were violated during his trial. If so, he wants to file a motion to cancel or change his conviction and sentence. Josh wanted a consultation with counsel to fully evaluate the potential of these emerging strategies and see if they’d be able to support a “motion of relief.”
It turns out that Josh believes that his trial “involved complex constitutional and evidentiary issues.” Moreover, he believes that the case has gotten “broad publicity.” Hence, the court must take a full and fair post-conviction review because of all these reasons.
