Lola Pearce may have bid adieu to EastEnders, but the consequences of her tragic death are still haunting many characters. Jay Brown seems to be the most affected of them all. Ever since Lola’s passing, he has been struggling to find a way to cope with his grief. Unfortunately, nothing and no one has managed to ease his pain on the BBC One soap. Now, in the latest twist, it seems Jay is heading down a very dangerous path. Moreover, the consequences of his choices will be drastic.
Recently, on EastEnders, Jay crossed paths with a stranger named Nadine. The two struck a rapport with each other almost immediately. However, the story took a dark turn when Jay found ketamine on her bedside table. Upon asking, Nadine told him that it helps her cope and it can help him ease his pain too. And then started a perilous tryst, which may end up with Jay losing Lexi. The more time Jay spends with Nadine, the less he spends with Lexi.
Eventually, Callum and Ben start to worry about what exactly is going on with him on EastEnders. Ben rips into Jay, accusing him of neglecting Lexi. This pushes Jay to spend some quality time with the little girl. However, soon after, he once again sneaks off to meet Nadine and score more Ketamine. In the upcoming episodes, when Callum confronts Jay over meeting Nadine, a bag of ketamine falls out of his pocket.
Shocked by the realization that Jay is on drugs, Callum feels like there is no other choice than to tell Ben on EastEnders. Despite many pleas by Jay to keep this secret between them, Callum decides to be honest with Ben. The two come to the conclusion that the only way to deal with Ben’s problem is to get him to see a counselor. However, when Callum brings it up, Jay ends up having another argument with him and storms off to score more ketamine from Nadine.
The latest EastEnders spoilers reveal that after this move, Ben may decide to scare Jay by threatening to take Lexi away from him for good.
