EastEnders: Josh Widdicombe Was Offended, Denied The Offer
Josh Widdicombe, the comedian who appeared on The Last Leg as a panellist, opened up about the incident. In an episode of Pointless, he revealed that he was asked to audition for a part of the BBC One soap. The audition was for the part of Reiss Colwell aka Sonia Fowler’s boyfriend. However, Josh told the audience that he denied the offer due to some words used in the email about the role.
The comedian said, “About a year ago, I got asked to play Sonia’s new boyfriend,” he recalled, before joking: “They described him as a nerd. And they emailed my agent and said, ‘Thought this would be perfect for Josh!’ Can you believe that? I’ve never been so offended in my life!”
Reiss And Sonia’s Storyline On The Show
EastEnders spoilers furthermore reveal if Josh would’ve accepted the offer, then he would’ve been a part of the pregnancy storyline. Jonny Freeman currently plays this role and he has adjusted to the role quickly. There is always drama around Walford, and we know Reiss is also hiding a big secret: he stole money from his wife.
In other scenes, regular viewers know that Reiss and Sonia are pregnant after going through the IVF process. The couple is really happy since they had to go through a tough time before they finally got pregnant. Furthermore, Reiss wanted to tell everyone about the pregnancy, but Sonia requested that they keep it to themselves for a while. It seems like she wants to ‘just enjoy’ the pregnancy.
Moreover, Natalie Cassidy plays Sonia’s character on the BBC soap. She played an integral part when Whitney Dean was leaving Walford. Her departure from the show actually left Cassidy in tears.
