Euphoria Season 2: It has been a long time since the viewers got to see HBO’s teen drama Euphoria. The first season ended on a high note making all viewers pretty desperate for Euphoria Season 2. The show that first aired in June 2019 was renewed a month after for the second season. Not just that, it became a huge hit both in terms of viewership and critical acclamation. The series got three Emmy nominations and one win. Now, the creator and the cast have started revealing some details on what is coming up next. Here is everything to know about Euphoria Season 2.
Creator Reveals Release Date
Its been almost two years since we got to see the finale episode of the first season of “Euphoria.” However, there is some good news for the fans. The creator and showrunner of the series Sam Levinson revealed that Euphoria Season 2 is on its way and will release sometime in 2021.
In an interview with IndieWire, Levinson confirmed that they are looking forward to getting back to production in March 2021. The creator says that the goal for them is to bring the episodes this year. So, that will hopefully happen. Levinson says that while the ongoing pandemic can indeed change some plans, they are eying a March production date and release the episodes by December 2021.
What Will Happen Next?
In an interview with InStyle back in September 2020, Zendaya, the lead actress on the show said that she missed Rue. She is like her little sister in a number of ways and going back to the character is like home for her. Zendaya hinted that a beautiful Euphoria Season 2 is coming up. By saying that, the actress also said that for what they want to do, they along with all the viewers will have to wait a little longer and hope that things get safer.
In April 2020, Sweeney who plays the character of Cassie said that nobody will be able to guess what is coming up in the show. She herself couldn’t guess it. She revealed that Euphoria Season 2 will be shocking. There is a lot that goes into the life of a teenager and it will be shocking. So, one can never know what they must expect. Continuing on, she says that the second season will also be darker as the characters will get into even more intense situations.
Special Episodes Are Coming Before Euphoria Season 2
The creators understand that waiting for so long might not be every viewers’ cup of tea. So, the team is bringing two special episodes for the series. The first one titled- Trouble Don’t Last Always released early in December 2020. The episode focused on Rue and her Sobriety. The episode was filmed under COVID-19 guidelines. The first part of these two-part specials saw Rue and her sponsor Ali as they shared pancakes on Christmas Eve.
Now, the second part of the special two-part series will see Hunter Schafer’s Jules after what happened in the first season. The episode will also be focused on her Christmas holiday. By the end of the first season, Rue was heartbroken and she skipped the town alone after her plan to run away with Jules fell apart.
The trailer for the second special episode is now out. It features some clips from the first season along with some new footage. Viewers can hear Jules as she narrates in the trailer. Jules says that Rue was the first girl who didn’t look at her, she really saw her. Then viewers get to hear Rue who asks why did she run away? The trailer then flashes a number of moments from Jules’ childhood.
The upcoming second part, titled F*** Anyone Who’s Not A Sea Blob releasing today, January 24, 2021. The episode, like the first one, is filmed under strict COVID-19 protocols. Don’t forget to tune in and watch the episode. The episode will release on HBO.
