Anthony Vanelli, who starred on TLC Unexpected Season 3 as the baby daddy of Rilah Ferrer, has been in the news since 2023. Fans first met him when he and Rilah were new parents to their daughter, Malayah. Soon after the show, Anthony became violent toward Rilah, and the couple broke up. Since then, he has had his run-ins with the law. Authorities included charges for aggravated assault and tampering with an electronic monitoring device.

His most shocking act was stabbing his mother’s boyfriend multiple times. This shocked fans. After the stabbing incident, a judge ruled Anthony unfit for trial and sent him to a treatment program. He has now been cleared and will face court. The judge also ordered him to serve two years of community control and three years of probation in addition to his prison sentence. His original 16-month sentence was paused because of the earlier ruling.

He called the news “my greatest gift” and a “blessing to the new year.”

Rilah added her own celebratory collage of three positive tests from the first week of January. Fans of Unexpected know that this isn’t Rilah’s first time as a mom. She’s already raising daughter Malayah, whose baby daddy, Anthony, is in prison for violent crime.
