The role fulfils those similar to ladies-in-waiting, which was abolished. And that’s where Lady Sarah Keswick comes into the picture. She was earlier pictured with the then Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles in 1979. Their friendship is still tight as Camilla hung out with her at the premier horse racing event as a Queen Companion on Wednesday.

Additionally, Princess Anne seemed to share a similar sentiment when she warned against the scaled-back monarchy last year. She expressed that the royal family was getting too small for all its duties. Anyway, nobody saw it coming that Queen Camilla could become a queen after Princess Diana’s death. However, she now holds the title with the blessing of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The grave news of Charles’ cancer treatment took the nation by surprise. Moreover, Kate’s sudden abdominal surgery only made it worse. And the weight has fallen on the 76-year-old Queen to represent the family. Subsequently, the two close friends accompanied Camilla during her first public appearance after the King’s health scare. These included Sarah Troughton and Fiona Petty-Fitzmaurice.
