Is The Show Renewed?
Thankfully yes. Back in June 2020, Sky announced the renewal of the series for a second season. While renewing the show, Zai Bennett, The Managing Director of Content at Sky UK, said that Gangs of London was not just the most-watched show of the year, it was the biggest original drama for the service in the past five years. He says that the show is dark, dangerous and they are all thrilled that Gangs of London Season 2 is happening.
With that announcement, they also welcomed AMC to their gang for the second season of the series alongside Pulse Films & Sister and Sky Studios. Bennett says that the upcoming season of the show would address the questions that the first one has left us all with. Will Wallace’s family rise? Would the Dumanis continue to be loyal to their allies? He says that the viewers will also find out about who Elliot is working for. All of these questions will be answered soon.
Recap & Upcoming Storyline For The Next Season
The first season of Gangs of London leaves all viewers of the show with a number of big questions. One of the biggest questions is if Sean Wallace died? By the end of the first season, Elliot had shot Sean in the face. It was something that The Investors had asked him to do, so Sean could not speak about Alex Dumani and his presence in the Game.
Eliot is indeed a professional, but viewers never got to see Sean’s corpse. Could he really be dead, or is he alive? It is quite possible that he would come back. With that said, another storyline we think Gangs of London Season 2 would follow is Eliot and his motives. Now his cover is blown, and he is out of the force. What will he do next?
By the end of the series, Alex is also alive and is going on to head business left after the assassination of Finn Wallace. Alex’s dad shot Matriach Marian Wallace and left her to die. However, then Finn’s love came in to offer her help. In the meantime, Luan went back to Albania, and Lale went back to Kurdistan. But it does not look like the murders of Asif and Nigerian’s son Nasir will go without repercussions.
With that said, one of the biggest questions to be answered will be if Sean Managed to survive or not. Not just that, viewers will also get to see about the mysterious investors who have been behind the screens pulling the strings of the scenes.
Gangs of London Season 2: Release Date
The exact release date for Gangs of London Season 2 isn’t out yet. However, while renewing the show, creators had revealed that they are planning to start productions in 2021 and aiming for a 2022 release date.
