General Hospital viewers who have been keeping up with the show know that Franco was killed off recently. And with that killing, many fans had started speculating that it is indeed possible that Roger Howarth might be coming back as Todd Manning. The question here is, is he? Todd Manning Isn’t Coming Back.
Recently Daytime Confidential explained that ABC has shut down all the dreams of those who were hoping that Todd Manning might come back on the soap opera. When Howarth first joined General Hospital back in 2012, he brought in his One Life to Live character- Todd Manning, to Port Charles. Todd became a part of the General Hospital universe, but things then changed after the lawsuit regarding Todd and many other One Life To Live characters who then became a part of the online reboot of the show. All this led to Howarth getting a recast as Franco Baldwin on the soap opera.
Todd had become really popular with the fans of the show, but he was a problematic character in more than one way. Todd was a rapist; hence ABC might not love to bring him back on the show, and that seems like a mixed idea. All of this makes sense considering that Franco had a long list of transgressions himself, and viewers were never able to get over it. Since Franco was a controversial character himself, it wouldn’t really be nice to bring yet another controversial character to replace him. It looks like fans will have to let go of these characters now.
General Hospital: What Character Will Howarth Play Upon His Comeback?
When Howarth comes back this time, he needs a more clean slate that would give him more romantic opportunities. While we don’t yet know what character Howarth would come in to play, we know that his comebacks are in the works undoubtedly. Howarth will come in to play just another character than Tod Manning. Hopefully, it will be a character with no past baggage that would weigh him down.
