General Hospital has been one of the headlining giants of the Soap Opera Universe for as long as we can remember! Many actors and characters have been so long associated with these long-running soaps that they become synonyms with each other! One such star is Nancy Lee Grahn! The tremendously talented and unapologetically outspoken actress has been part of General Hospital for over two and a half decades! The star is celebrating her 26th anniversary on the soap as Alexis!
Nancy shared a celebratory post on Facebook, marking her General Hospital milestone. “Today I have completed my 26th year and will begin my 27th on my beloved General Hospital. I leave you with an excerpt from my book which will be released in the next year.” She titled her heartfelt post.
General Hospital: Alexis Davis.
“I play the role of Alexis Davis. I am a public defender, prosecutor, personnel injury, civil, malpractice, tax and family attorney.” Nancy wrote. ” I am the bastard child of Mikos Cassadine who died after being thrown into his own weather machine which he designed to freeze the world.” She wrote giving an introduction to her character on General Hospital.
Nancy’s note quickly takes a darker tone as she describes what went down between Alexis and her mother on General Hospital. “ I hurled my frail 75 year old stepmother off a five hundred foot parapet slamming her onto jagged rock only for her to walk away unscathed. Even more determined, I shoved her off a thousand foot cliff into the frigid subzero ocean.”
Describing Alexis’ time of “fun and ferocity” with Sonny on General Hospital, Nancy mused. “I then fell in love with my deviant client, world renowned mobster Sonny Corrinthos. We became very popular.” She added. “We had a lot of fun together including being mowed down seven times by slow motion gunfire, usually accompanied by classical or Christmas music, depending on the season. We’ve also survived several bomb explosions together.”
Mother and Murderer
Continuing in her tongue-in-cheek flamboyance, she further wrote. “Being a mother now and a murderer, I did not want to go to jail, so I donned a red wig pretending to be my dead sister, but only looked ridiculous”. Furthermore, she mused, “I then cleverly set out to fake a personality disorder to beat a murder wrap but no one was able to follow the story both on and off the show, so they ended it.”
In a clever description of the events, Nancy explains, “Instead they thought it would be amusing to dress me up like a male English butler for three months. Again, no one knew why. Eventually I got pregnant with my daughter’s father’s brother and recovered beautifully from a C section with a butter knife and no anesthetic.”
