Hence, it’s such a hard pill to swallow when it comes to his health issues. Although, the phenomenal star has never kept his fans in the dark about them. General Hospital: Cameron Mathison’s Rare Disease.

On February 28th, 2022, Cameron Mathison took to his official Instagram account to post a few pictures from his childhood. Alongside, he wrote a heartfelt note narrating his battle with a rare degenerative disease, Legg Calve Perthes Disease. The talented General Hospital actor was first diagnosed with it while he was just a toddler and had been battling it ever since.

“In honor of Rare Disease Day, I’m posting about the rare degenerative bone disease I had as a child:  Legg Calve Perthes Disease.” He began his note. “I was diagnosed at two years old and wore this leg brace night and day for 4 years to allow my femur bones to harden and support my body.” He shared. He also tagged in his post @leggcalveperthes and @pertheskids , mentioning that they are” two great organizations to support and to learn more” about the disease.

It is always very heartening to see celebrated personalities such as Cameron Mathison speaking so openly about the various battles in their personal lives. They have a huge fan following, and people really look up to them. Revelations like these serve as great motivation to people who are struggling. It brings them to hope that if these superstars got over their troubles and achieved so much, so can they!

Stem Cell Treatment, Cameron’s New Hope!

Furthermore, on September 11th, 2022, General Hospital star Cameron shared a very important update from his journey of battling Legg Calve Perthes Disease. He posted a selfie video on Instagram stating he is “super, super excited,” “Stem cell treatment. This is incredible.” He emphasized, “I’ve gone through a lot of health challenges in my life.” He started talking about his bone disease. “I didn’t really walk until I was seven years old. I’ve gone through lots of gut issues, immune system issues, and even a cancer journey a few years ago.”

“We’ve all got our challenges”. Cameron continued, “I’ve tried so many things, and now I’m doing stem cells with Dr. David Green at R3.” He shared that he is very excited about it and is their brand ambassador. “I’m a perfect candidate because I’ve tried everything else. And I’m literally getting ready for hip replacement, which I just don’t want to do at my age. Because I’m so young.” The General Hospital actor concluded.

Cameron mentioned that he has already started his cell stem treatment and has already taken a shot right in his hip joint. He also has taken stem cells through IV, he stated.
