TV Season & Spoilers had previously reported the heartbreaking news of General Hospital star Jaclyn Zeman’s passing. The talented performer passed over on May 10, 2023, after a short but brave battle with cancer. While the entire daytime industry and fans mourned her loss, we are sure her legacy will live on in the commendable body of work she left behind. Jaclyn impeccably portrayed the character of Barbara Jean Spencer on GH for over four decades, starting in December 1977.
The last time the legendary actress graced our TV screens as part of General Hospital was on April 27, 2023. Many spoilers have suggested that the episode will remain her final appearance on the show, as no other scenes had been filmed by Jaclyn. However, that doesn’t mean GH will let the ever-so-loved character of Bonnie fade into oblivion without proper acknowledgment. Now, social media is rife with speculations regarding how Bobbie will be written off the soap. Since her exit cannot be physically shown anymore, it will have to be done off-screen or in a back-story. There are two very efficient ways of acknowledging the exit storyline. Lucas Spencer Returns To Acknowledge Bobbie
For the longest time, fans have been asking for Luke’s return to General Hospital. Previously, when Tony Geary retired from the soap, his character was also bumped off the screen. Tracy swooshed into Port Charles, carrying the news of Luke’s death, and a whole memorial was conducted to honor his memory. However, fans have never been able to digest that their beloved Luke died in a cable car accident. They have forever been holding their breath for Luke’s return with a back-story of why he faked his death!
Now, if General Hospital decides to write of Bobbie’s character with an off-screen death, we can expect another memorial service to be held. Wouldn’t this be the perfect time for Luke to return to honor his little sister? Unfortunately, though, Tony seems to be standing his ground about retiring and has expressed no interest in returning to the soap. However, a part of our heart still hoped he would return just for a cameo to address Bobbie and his own exit!
General Hospital: Carly And Sonny Come Together To Mourn Bobbie
If Bobbie passes over to the other side of General Hospital, Luke will not be the only one heartbroken over it. Sonny and Carly both have a long-standing history with her on ABC’s legacy soap. Moreover, given the trying circumstances, Carly is currently stuck in with the SEC. Hence, a loss like this would hit extra hard. It will be an ache that would require some solace from someone equally hit by it. And it cannot be Drew! While he cares deeply for Carly, he never knew Bobbie the way she and Sonny did.
Hence, it is completely plausible that the dimpled don will offer his sturdy shoulder for Carly to cry on. Moreover, just last year, Carly spent an extended period of time in Virginia, coming to terms with her mother’s loss on General Hospital. Imagine losing her mother figure in such quick succession! We would absolutely understand if it makes Carly a little unhinged and she decides to find a little bit more than just solace with Sonny. After all, he is willing to go to prison for her.
