Is Goliath Season 4 Happening?
Thankfully yes! Goliath Season 4 is happening. Amazon Studios renewed the show for a fourth season back in November 2019. While renewing the show, the co-head of Amazon Studios Television, Vernon Sanders, revealed insights about Goliath Season 4. He revealed that Goliath was one of the most popular shows on Prime Video.
In the statement, he says that they are all very thankful to the entire team for bringing a series like Goliath to life. Continuing on, he says that they are all very happy that the consumers around the world will get to see Billy McBride bringing the final chapter of the Goliath Series on Prime Video soon.
The creators had planned to release the show in 2020. However, now it looks like the series, just like all others, was badly affected by COVID-19. Actor Bruce Dern who recently joined the cast of the show, opened up to Forbes to talk about Goliath Season 4.
In an interview, he said that along with J.K. Simmons, William Hurt and Billy Bob was supposed to be a part of the series. He revealed that J.K. and he himself would play brothers, and they are the main stars this time. Dern says that while they were all gearing up for the shoot, everything shut down on March 12. Now, they don’t know when that would make it. Continuing his statement, he says that after Labor Day, it seemed like they will be able to get back to work, but the conditions became really strict.
However, in December 2020, some people spotted star Thornton back on the set, filming more of the series yet again. So, given that the productions are back on track, we can expect to see more of the series sometime by the end of 2020.
Who will we see in Goliath Season 4?
Two new actors will be joining the team of Goliath season 4. These actors are- J.K. Simmons and Bruce Dern, who are coming in to join the cast of the series for the fourth season. Entertainment Weekly reveals that they will join the show to portray the roles of George Zax and Frank, respectively. George Zax is the head of a family-owned operated pharmaceutical company. Frank is George’s brother. The creators have described him as the scientific genius and the black sheep of the Zax family.
While Amazon did not reveal more details about these two characters, it looks like Simmons and Der will be the antagonist for Goliath Season 4. In the previous season, the third season, these roles were played by Amy Brenneman and Dennis Quaid. In the second season, Ana de la Reguera and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo played the roles in the second season. Joining them for the fourth season will be Tania Raymonde, Nina Arianda, Diana Hopper, and Julie Brister.
What Would Happen Next?
The creators and the cast members of the show have been quite tight-lipped on what would come next on Goliath Season. However, we can expect that the fourth season of the show will pick up exactly where the third season left. By the end of the third season, Billy’s life was in danger. Back when Amazon had renewed the show, the executive producer of the show, Lawrence Trilling, hinted about what would come up next. In a statement he Trilling says that he is thrilled about getting yet another opportunity to tell more of Billy McBride’s story.
Every season until now, the series sees Billy Bob Thornton’s character Billy McBride as he takes on a big case inspired by real-life issues. These are the issues that are taking over the country that is often led by Goliath(s). Goliath Season 4 will take on America’s rampant drug problem. The season will see McBride as he takes on a Big Pharma in a case that represents a global crisis that is impacting the whole generation.
