In the show, which is four seasons old now, men with unhealthy attachments to their mothers come to document their lives while trying to find love. Most of the time, their familial bond ends up sabotaging their budding romance. Matt McAdams is one such star who has been recurring through many seasons. But he is facing some serious allegations! Matt McAdams is one of the OG stars from the I Love A Mama’s Boy series. His journey began on the show along with his mother dearest Kelly. They are one of the few who have continued to star in the show season after season as Matt has welcomed various love interests to become part of his and his mother’s lives. Kimberly Cobb became his fiance.
When Matt and Kimberly got closer to tying the knot, the former’s parents had decided to build them a home. Soon, Kelly became too controlling of the situation, and the couple began to have no say in their home. Well, things began to look up for Kimberly when she got a new job opportunity, but Matt revealed that he couldn’t leave his mom behind to be with his fiancee.
That’s when Kimberly decided to call their engagement off and move on. But that’s just half the truth. Meaww reports that Kimberly has had a protective order for domestic abuse against Matt since 2022. While she didn’t speak up about this, her mother, Nicole Schnehimider, did. As per her, her son-in-law-to-be is a verbal abuser, narcissistic, and so on.
Nicole has been upset at TLC for continuing ILAMB with Matt as one of the major stars. While Matt and Kelly have continued to star in the series, they never addressed the abuse allegations on the show. In fact, they have never openly spoken up about this issue on the show or on their social media.

While Matt and Kelly have refrained from sharing personal details about their relationship, the latter’s mother, Nicole, has revealed a lot of behind-the-scenes secrets. She said that once Kim filed the protective order, it sabotaged her chances of being a part of ILAMB or I Love A Mama’s Boy. She mentioned Kimberly’s contract had to end after physical abuse allegations.
Kimberly never talked about the allegations but did say her reason behind parting ways with Matt wasn’t just because of his mother Kelly. Apart from this, she had accused her ex of “cursing her out in public, and a lack of support, honesty, and respect.” She also confirmed not being a part of the show since Season 3.
