King Charles III and Queen Camilla hit quite a big milestone recently. The royal couple clocked in nineteen years together on April 9. Yep, they exchanged their vows back in 2005. The royals decided to just chill and enjoy each other’s company, especially with all the treatment Charles is going through. So, they decided to have a cosy getaway instead. Read on to know all about it!

King Charles III: The King Hit Brakes in Private Celebration!

King Charles III and Queen Camilla jetted off to Aberdeen Airport and were then taken to Birkhali, up in the Scottish Highlands. They just really love that spot, as it’s been their go-to escape. This time around, they’ll be spending some “private time” in the Balmoral estate. Well, it all makes sense because it’s lush and nestled on the banks of the River Muick.

Birkhall is the private residence of King Charles.

Moreover, the surreal estate has that whole childhood nostalgia vibe going on. King Charles III said, “It is such a special place, particularly because it was made by my grandmother.” He added, “It is a childhood garden, and all I’ve done, really, is enhance it a bit.” And here’s the cute part: the royal seniors love walking their two Jack Russell Terriers, Bluebell and Beth, around there.

In addition, Birkhall is the very spot where they had their honeymoon, too! Subsequently, it has become a sweet tradition for Charles and Camilla to head back here every anniversary. Monarch’s former butler Grant Harrold revealed that the couple kept the celebration low-key, including an intimate “romantic dinner.” This little break served as a refreshing breather for both of them, especially with everything Charles was dealing with.

By the way, Birkhall isn’t just any old house—it holds history. King Charles III inherited the estate from his grandma back in 2002. Anyway, the Monarch’s cancer diagnosis has been hard on him. So, this getaway is giving him a chance to hit pause and focus on what really matters. We hope they had a peaceful and refreshing time at Birkhall.
