After six years of dating, the former finally popped the question, and they will be tying the knot this year. It turns out this change caused a big stir in the family, leading to mixed reactions.
Everyone was also curious about how Amy Roloff would react, considering how she is Matt’s ex and was his first wife. Fans know by now how the matriarch decided not to invite Matt to her and Chris’ wedding! But that’s not the same case for the patriarch. In fact, he happily extended the invitation to Chris and Amy. Matt and Caryn have been on cloud nine lately. The LPBW couple finally confirmed they are engaged in the new season. However, since the farm feud has caused a lot of tension in the family, the news received a mixed reaction. Everyone was curious about their reaction when the soon-to-be-married couple broke the news to Amy and Chris.
Well, before anyone could react properly to the news, Matt revealed one more thing. He said he and Caryn wish to do things a bit differently this time. He said so and immediately invited Amy and Chris. Longtime fans must remember how the latter couple decided not to invite Matt and Caryn.
It turns out Caryn wasn’t happy with what Matt said during the dinner. She mentioned how the LPBW couple had not yet decided on their guest list and didn’t know if they would even invite their best friends. So, it was clear that she didn’t approve of her future husband immediately inviting his ex and her new husband.
While Chris Marek didn’t mind not being invited, he wanted to be present for Matt’s Bachelor party. The latter said that it was a “no brainer.” Hence, the former was invited to it. Amy said she didn’t wish to attend Matt and Caryn’s wedding out of respect for their four kids. That’s precisely why she and Chris had decided against her ex and his girlfriend attending.

Matt and his kids don’t really get along. Most LPBW fans know this by know after the show focussed on the farm feud. It was clear that Jeremy and Zach were devastated after they didn’t get to live on the farm and carry on the legacy. But they have bought different properties since then and moved on. The patriarch said that his daughter Molly had immediately called him after he had dropped a text about his engagement.
He revealed that Jacob and his wife Isabel were pretty happy, too. That’s exactly how Jeremy expressed his happiness, too. But the one person that he didn’t hear from was Zach. In a clip, a producer asked him how he felt about the news; he said that there weren’t a lot of “bad feelings,” but he didn’t want to talk about it.
