The Roloff Farm is on the verge of getting abandoned. Things went downhill ever since the Little People Big World mom moved out of it after her divorce with Matt Roloff. Amy sold off her shares to her the Roloff family patriarch for around $975,000. However, Matt’s new girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, refused to move to Amy’s old farmhouse. Hence, Matt is technically the only one who acquires the farm now. On the other hand, his sons Zach and Jeremy Roloff, who were initially interested in buying their mother’s shares, are no more interested in doing so. Here’s every detail you need to know about it.
Little People Big World: Zach & Jeremy Won’t Buy Roloff Farm Shares Anymore
When Amy and Matt got their divorce back in 2016, the Roloff mom was asked to sell off her shares. The Little People Big World star had been living at the farm for years. It wasn’t easy for her to move out so soon. It took her a while to make the decision and eventually sold her shares which were half of the entire Roloff Farms, to her ex-husband. The Roloffs bought the farm back in 1990 for just $185,000. However, Amy took around $975,000 for her part of the property.
Well, soon after Amy and Matt split, other members of the Little People Big World family had their eyes on the farm. Cheatsheet reveals that Matt and Amy were expecting that their son Jeremy Roloff would buy his mom’s share of the property. However, later on in one of the episodes, we saw Zach mentioning that he has an interest in taking over the farm too. In fact, he even talked to his parents and wife Tori Roloff about moving there.
However, it seems like both parties have had a change of mind. Reports say that Jeremy and Zach are no more interested in moving into the farm. An insider revealed to TheSun that most of the Roloff kids were happy to move out of the property. Hence, they wouldn’t want to get back to where they were. Well, it’s given that the Little People Big World dad always wanted his kids to take over the farm sometime in the future. Well, now that the chances for it happened have decreased, the Roloff Farms might be abandoned soon.
Little People Big World: Matt Roloff Is Renting Out Amy’s Old Farmhouse
Even though Amy sold her house to her ex-husband, nobody was living there anymore. Matt’s new girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, refused to move in where his ex-wife lived. She wanted a fresh start, and the farmhouse held too many of Matt and Amy’s memories. However, Matt’s business went downhill during the pandemic as the farm remained close during their most festive season.
Eventually, Roloff had to take out a government loan to keep the farm running. As of now Matt has rented out Amy’s old farmhouse. A woman who has worked at the farm for a long time is now renting out some property there. However, the main reason why Matt has allowed someone else to live in the farmhouse is that he didn’t want to leave it empty. Besides, it is also a small business opportunity for the family.
