Recently, Mama June’s daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” accused Mama June of stealing her money. Alana had looked at her bank account to see how much money she had to pursue college. It turned out that the amount was too low.
Mama June told Alana she had used the money to pay for the family. But that still did not account for the low money. MTV show Teen Mom star Kailyn also weighed in on the situation. She criticized Mama June for not getting good financial advice. Now, the latter is slamming back at the star.
Teen Mom: Mama June Slams Back At Kailyn’s ‘Financial Advice’
When Kailyn learned about Alana and Mama June’s argument, she had a few things to say. The Teen Mom star had been on reality tv for the same amount of time Alana had. Yet she had more money than Alana. Kailyn could not understand how a mom could do that to her child. She is also a mom and has set up Coogan accounts for all her kids.
Kailyn also wanted to give Mama June the benefit of the doubt. However, that wasn’t possible. Even if Mama June took “a percentage of her kids’ money” as a “management fee,” the amount was still too huge to spend. She had advised Mama June to get a financial advisor and to use the money better.
Now, June broke her silence after the Teen Mom star’s video. She is now opening up about the “truth behind Alana’s money” situation. The star revealed that TLC didn’t give them any compensation for Toddlers and Tiaras in 2011. It only helped them with Alana’s pageant entry fees. She then said the network never mentioned any Coogan account, even on “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” Mama June had used the money from the show on family expenses.
Alana’s Coogan account came after Dancing With The Stars. However, Mama June only put 20% of Alana’s earnings in the account instead of 100%. The star also added that she had been going through a “drug addiction” at the time. But that was still no “excuse.” Mama June will now deposit some of the missing amount into Alana’s bank account, as she deserves it.
Teen Mom: Kailyn’s Advice For Mama June
Like everyone else, even Kailyn heard about Alana’s accusation against Mama June. The star wants to sue her mom for stealing her money. Since Kailyn had also been a part of reality Tv for a long time, she understood the situation. The star decided to say her piece on social media.
Kailyn talked about how she had set up Coogan accounts for most of her kids to protect their earnings. She also talked about how she had been on TV for 12-13 years, like Alana, but had much more money. The star mentioned that even if Mama June took “a percentage of her kids’ money” as a “management fee,” she still would have an insane amount. It would be too much to spend all of it.
She said she didn’t come for a money-savvy background either. But Kailyn had employed good “financial planner(s)” and advisers.
