Modern Love Season 2 is happening, and it is all set to bring back more stories of love, friendships, weird dates, and a number of broken promises. The first season of the series released in October 2019. So, now, it has been more than a year. Fans have now started wondering when Modern Love Season 2 would release. The creator of the show, John Carney, had promised that he would bring more such stories for the viewers, so what would those stories be? Here is everything to know-
Production Started?
Amazon had renewed Modern Love Season 2 on October 24, 2019, only a few weeks after the first season was released. Since the first season of the series had bagged great reviews, this renewal wasn’t a surprise. Not just that, the writer, director, and producer of the show John Carney has signed a long-term deal with Amazon. So, this renewal seemed pre-planned. In a statement, the head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke, stated that Modern Love has received incredible reviews from everyone. So, they are happy to bring more of the show.
The show was supposed to release on Prime Video in 2020, but the filming of the series went on hold because of you know who. But the latest reports suggest that the team got back into production in September 2020. The production team also declared that they were looking for an extra cast for the shoot. Then later in October 2020, the news about filming commencing in Washington Park surfaced.
Who Will We Get To See?
At the moment, we do not have much information on who viewers would get to see in Modern Love Season 2. However, what we do know is that the first season of the series did feature a stellar cast, including Dev Patel, Tina Fey, Anne Hathway, Andy Garcia, Arabella Olivia Clark, and Caitlin McGee, among many others. So, we can expect a cast like this to come up in the next season of the series.
It is quite possible that these cast members might come back for a second season but with new names and characters. Modern Love is an anthology series. So, it wouldn’t be out of the question if the creators think of doing this. Dev Patel was also nominated for the Outstanding Guest Actor in comedy series for the 2020 Prime-Time Emmy. Modern Love Season 2: What Would happen next?
While the creators have been quite tight-lipped about what kind of stories they would say in the upcoming season of the series, we can make some educated guesses. The first season explored the emotion of love and its complexity through different perspectives. In the first season of the series, viewers get to see a young woman who has an unplanned pregnancy that changes her life entirely. But her doorman was beside her, helping her all the time. Then the show explores an attorney played by Anne Hathway. She is dealing with bipolar disorder while also trying to balance her personal and professional life.
Keep in mind the kind of stories we got to see in the first season; we can expect similar stories in the upcoming Modern Love Season 2. In an interview, Carney revealed that they would be opening the doors for new opportunities in the second season. There are so many stories for the upcoming season that they plan to dig deep into.
Considering that the filming for Modern Love Season 2 has already started, we can expect to see the series sometime in 2021.
