Emmerdale Features Major Politician In Milestone Episode
A major politician has hinted at a surprise appearance on Emmerdale, just in time for the show’s 10,000th episode. Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the 66-year-old Speaker of the House of Commons, visited the set to celebrate this incredible milestone. This visit fulfilled his promise in 2022 when he toured Coronation Street.
At that time, he vowed to visit Dales next. Finally, Sir Lindsay made good on his word. Back in 2022, he threw a fantastic reception at Speaker’s House to celebrate over 100 years of drama in the north of the UK. He was thrilled to receive a pair of ‘Emmerdale Wellington boots’ and an invite to visit the village.

Sir Lindsay Hoyle mentioned that these award-winning shows have been discussed over 320 times in parliamentary debates. He believes they’re vital for Britain’s culture and economy up North. Upon stepping onto the set, he sported his gifted wellies and mingled with the cast and crew.

A highlight was his snapshot with Emmerdale actress Charlotte Bellamy, taken at the Hide Bar & Bistro. The politician also explored the outdoor village set. In another picture, he was grinning from ear to ear in front of the famous Woolpack Pub, sporting his comfy jumper and chinos.

Mr. Speaker himself couldn’t contain his excitement, saying that the soap isn’t just a show; it’s a beacon of light. He highlighted that it showcases real-life experiences and pumps some serious cash into the North’s economy. As a Lancastrian, he couldn’t help but gush over the incredible talent of our Emmerdale pals from across the Pennines.
Meanwhile, John Whiston, ITV’s Managing Director of Continuing Drama in the North, praised how the politician balances things out by visiting Coronation Street and The Dales. He mentioned that the Emmerdale team is honored to have him in The Dales.

John added, “And we have assured his team that no floods, fires, bus crashes, plane crashes, or lightning strikes will hit the Village while he is there – unusually for a Friday.” For more such Emmerdale updates, keep checking TV Season & Spoilers!
