RHOBH: Lisa Rinna & Backgrid Agree To Settlement To Avoid Public Trial

Lisa Rinna got in the heat a year ago to post pictures belonging to a photo agency. In October 2021, a celebrity photo agency sued the RHOBH star for using their pictures on Instagram. The company Backgrid filed a complaint in the court claiming that the Real Housewives star has willfully infringed the copyrights. The eight pictures that are in question belong to Lisa Rinna and her daughters. Likewise, the company Backgrid argued that the Bravo star used the picture to show it to her three million followers.

Hence, the company argued that they were about to sell the pictures for $1.2 million. The case has been going on for months, and Radaronline reports that the parties have a settlement. The settlement will help Lisa and the company to avoid a public trial. Similarly, when Lisa posted the pictures, the company did reach her. Backgrid claimed they sent the Bravo star a cease and desist letter in February 2021. But, Lisa decided to ignore it.

Not only this, but The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star also used the pictures to promote and sell her beauty line. The company argued that each photograph prompted thousands and hundreds of thousands of fan comments. Similarly, Lisa’s account is private. Anyone can use the picture and access the pictures issued in the lawsuit. Meanwhile, Rinna tried to defend herself by blaming the company for its fraudulent conduct. The case will be finally dismissed on July 15, 2022.

RHOBH: Lisa Feels $1.2 Million Is Too Much

It wasn’t easy for Lisa Rinna to get out of the mess. She has defended herself by saying she posted pictures of her and her daughters. The American actress also noted that she had been nice to them and never fought the company. However, she didn’t know that using the pictures could land her in trouble.
