Cosmopolis follows a billionaire Eric Packer (Pattinson), having a prostate exam while never leaving his luxurious limousine and business. Based on Don DeLillo’s novel takes place on that day where the asset manager lost half of his fortune, including his fiancée.
The film appears as a slow burn that doesn’t seem to work for everyone, but it wasn’t the case with Pattinson. He grasps everyone’s interest throughout the running time. Though Pattinson plays extremely cool on the outside yet remains to untangle inside. Well, this is what makes him continue to serve as one of the best actors of his generation. 7.Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I (2011)
The cynic can mutter anything, but there’s a reason the Twilight series bring limelight on its two leads, and Robert Pattinson beat out several actors for the coveted role. For those who still dismiss the quality of the film- there are several reasons for praising the actor for pulling such a storyline. While the previous three movies, though, sound a little dour but Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I is where Edward comes out of his shell.
Edward finally marries the love of his life, becomes a father, and at last, loses his wife. However, he did everything to revive his wife Bella, including passing his venom through several bites. 6.The Rover (2014)
Pattinson’s first film after his hit Twilight series proves that the actor didn’t want to play it safe. Director David Michôd’s brutal drama occurs in a dark dystopian future where Australia has turned into a desert wasteland. Eric, played by Guy Pearce, lost his car and keenly looking for the trio of fugitives who had stolen it. However, Eric was backed by Pattinson’s Rey, who played the brother of one of the fugitives who left all alone to die. Rey’s childlike nature wins the screen. (Available on Hulu)
5.High Life (2019)
Deeming his challenging nature, Pattinson took the lead in the English-language debut of Claire Denis. It follows the Death Rom inmates group who sent into space to extract the black hole’s energy. It is both a Denis film and a space movie where everything seems to go smooth, but soon suicide and murder occur. However, Pattinson’s Monte wasn’t like the other. Yet he’s also willingly chaste but never used the f-k box on the ship.
But it doesn’t lose Juliette Binche’s Dr. Dibs interest in him, and Dr. Dibs sedate and rapped Monte leading to making his father of Dibs child. The scene where Pattinson talks with his daughter was as powerful as sending a chill to our spines. Though the movie narrates in fragments yet, Pattinson managed to hold it on course. 4.Damsel (2018)
Well, being Robert Pattinson is quite weird as he finally sealed a deal for a full-fledged comedy. It takes place in the 1870s, Pattinson’s Samuel Alabaster, a naïve lovesick lover seeking his beloved Penelope (Mia Wasikowska). With the help of a preacher named Henry and a miniature horse named Butterscotch, they set out on an unexpected journey that often takes farce turns. It might be Pattinson’s best upbeat performance that proves the actor can also play bright-eyed as he plays brooding. (Available on Hulu)
3.(2005) Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
Howbeit it wasn’t that huge role yet an important one. Pattinson’s Cedric Diggory appeared as Hogwarts’ champ- popular, handsome, athletic, and can annoy anyone from his perfection. But he also emerged as noble and kind, even Harry Potter and the other challengers like that guy. It was Pattinson’s first major film role filled with easygoing charm. When Cedric gives Harry a clue how to open the egg with a warm smile was the time when the entire audience falls for him.
Well, director Mike Newell knew that he required an actor who can leave a huge impact even in just a minimal role, and Pattinson turned out as the one. 2.The King (2019)
Even in a supporting role, Pattinson knows how to steal the eyes of his audience. Pattinson plays the Dauphin of France in the final third of reciting the Young Henry V’s rise to power. Though some believe that Pattinson favored the filmmaker David Michôd, yet it turned out as a gift for the viewers with unlimited fun. Pattinson has a blast, insulting Timothee Chalamet’s Prince Hal using basic schoolyard jabs with his attractive French accent. (Available on Netflix)
1.Tenet(2020)
Keeping aside all the Nolan scenario, which will take quite some time to understand, Tenet beautifully featured a friendship bond that was not dependent on time. Although the movie demands to watch repeatedly, at least two to three times to understand the entire plot. Although, Robert Pattinson managed to break free and became the only source of charisma in the film. Pattinson also had terrific chemistry with Washington, the main protagonist, acting as his confidente and wingman and the source for the few moments of happiness in the film, all while radiating enough confidence and swagger to put forth yet another strong performance.
