Fans of Sister Wives are well aware of the family’s journey even in difficult times. The show always covers these dramatic moments without fail, which includes the loss of a family member as well. Back in 2024, the Brown family lost one of Kody’s 18 children, Garrison. Due to the polyamorous nature of the family, all of the sister wives’ children lived together. Hence, it’s not hard to imagine that even besides his parents, others were also affected.
While Christine has been open about her personal journey in recent months, she talked about Garrison in a rare moment. As the family continues to navigate fractured relationships and emotional healing, Christine’s openness about the matter has sparked a wave of reactions online. What led her to finally speak about this loss? And how has her perspective on grief changed over time? Keep reading to know more.

This is not the first time Christine has opened up about the loss of Garrison. Even though Garrison was the son of Janelle, it is not surprising to imagine that the plural family was close to each other. At the time, Christine admitted that the pain had not eased with time, and she believed it never would. She further revealed that the loss was “heartbreaking,” and said there is now a permanent void that cannot be filled. According to Christine, grief has become something she must live with as she cannot move past it.
As time had gone by, Christine stated that after his death, she was trying to cope by feeling every emotion. She shared that she was crying a lot and felt that it was okay to show that side. When Garrison’s news spread, Christine talked about it on her social media. She revealed that she felt comfortable after doing small rituals, like preparing Garrison’s favorite breakfast. She felt this was a good way to keep his memory close. Christine acknowledged how difficult it is to balance daily routines while she is feeling sad.
Christine recently opened up about grieving Garrison during an appearance on the Too Emotional podcast with her husband, David Woolley. While discussing family loss with the host, Christine admitted she was initially shocked by Garrison’s death. Garrison passed away by suicide in March 2024 at the age of 25. She recalled hoping that the pain she felt would go away with time.
But the reality star heard David’s perspective, which made her think in a different way. David explained that grief never gets smaller or goes away. Instead, he told her that the heart grows around it. He described the loss as leaving a “Garrison-sized hole” that remains forever, while a person’s capacity to hold that pain expands. Christine admitted she did not want to hear that at the time, but later realized how true it was.
She also shared that she never wants that hole to disappear because missing Garrison means remembering him. David couldn’t hold back his thoughts and added that healing comes from letting your emotions come out rather than suppressing them. He felt that crying, anger, and sadness are all necessary to move forward. For the latest Sister Wives tea, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers.
