Her parents, Kody Brown and Christine, have been in a polygamous marriage for over two decades. Kody was first married to Meri, then to Janelle, and then to Christine. He finally married his favorite wife, Robyn, in 2010. Since then, the entire family dynamic has changed. Christine often complained that she felt like a basement wife in the marriage.

Kody was not prioritizing or even looking after the kids; there was a lack of sex, and she wanted to move back to Utah. Christine noted that Ysabel’s scoliosis surgery was a turning point for her.
Kody never acted like a father, and it broke her heart. She was no longer interested in polygamy, so she later decided to get married to David. Christine and David met on a dating app and instantly connected. After over a year of dating, they soon got married, and now they are happily together and prospering in their rental business.
