He added that he genuinely appreciated the show’s difficulty, describing it as ‘very life-affirming.’ While speaking with PEOPLE in September, he said, “You can accomplish a task, very difficult, with other people, and there’s a camaraderie you develop for it.”

Kody admitted that Sister Wives became an experience of criticism and backbiting for him. He has also spoken openly about how he suffered after what happened with his family in recent years.
