As Sister Wives season 20 has come to an end, the cast members are now giving separate interviews in the One-On-One special episodes. In a new sneak peek from the upcoming episode, Meri opens up about a personal moment that she still thinks about. She revealed to the host, Sukanya Krishnan, that Kody and Janelle had planned their wedding for her birthday. Meri still felt a certain way despite being quiet about it for years.
These specials offer more insight into the core problems in these conflicts, given how complicated the situation with the Brown family is. What probably looked insignificant to Kody and Janelle still stings for Meri decades later. Was this moment overlooked on purpose? And why does it still matter today? Keep reading to know more.

This isn’t the only problem Meri faces on Sister Wives. Problems have been on the rise for the reality TV star when it comes to her relationship with Kody and Janelle. Previous episodes of the Tell-All special discussed this, especially the sale of Coyote Pass. Janelle revealed that the family received a written offer and wanted to finish the deal quickly. She and Kody signed the paperwork and sent payments to the title company.
However, there were delays, and everyone blamed Meri. Kody said that Meri was taking too long and that he just wanted to get the deal done. Meri later addressed the NDA issue and admitted that it made her feel silenced. She started questioning why the family was treating her differently. Meri refused to sign the agreement until she read the whole thing. Kody claimed he wanted to sell the land first and divide the money later.
Even before all this, there were a lot of other issues that plagued Meri with other cast members of Sister Wives. In PEOPLE’s exclusive preview of the upcoming episode, Meri admitted she didn’t understand the reason Janelle got into the Brown family. She revealed that Kody and Janelle had made a plan to get married on her birthday. Even though Meri was concerned about the issue, Janelle and Kody didn’t listen to her.

According to Meri, the two said that celebrating her birthday on another day would be a better solution. Although Meri didn’t say anything at the time, the reality TV star felt unheard and disrespected. This has been the case since the very first day of their plural marriage setting. Kody’s mother eventually had to intervene and asked the two to move the plan to another day.
But it seems like Meri is still hurt about that incident. Meri also revealed that she felt hurt by Janelle because they had a relationship even before Janelle met Kody. Janelle had previously married her brother. She felt Kody and Janelle didn’t recognize how these simple gestures contributed to complicating things for the family.
