But it seems he has a lot of work to do with his current wife to work out of “toxic” patterns, as he put it himself.
In the finale of the reality series, the couple was seen confronting each other about some harsh truths of their marriage. After years of emotional ups and downs and multiple divorces, Kody and Robyn seem to be examining their place in relation to each other. But are they stronger after everything they have endured? Or are old patterns threatening to resurface once again? Keep on reading to know more.

As mentioned previously, Sister Wives released its final episode of the season recently. In it, Kody and Robyn sat down for what they described as a relationship “health check-up.” Before this, the couple went out with their ATVs, as has become the norm for them in the finales. After sitting down, Kody admitted that the past few years had taken a toll not just on the family but also on his marriage. He tried to open up about what happened after he divorced Meri, Janelle, and Christine.
He felt the process went on for a long time, and all the breakups changed him. Robyn also agreed with her husband and felt that their relationship now moves in cycles. She explained that Kody often changes from angry to mellow to angry again because of his emotions. Robyn also felt that, since he was married to her, it was difficult to process the divorce and try to work on the marriage together. She described it as a “toxic” time that had affected how the couple was communicating.
As the two Sister Wives cast members continued talking about their relationship, Kody admitted that they are “fighting for our marriage.” He also said that they were trying to break free from unhealthy patterns that started in their early days of marriage. Kody compared his previous life to something that had burned down, and now they had to rebuild from scratch.
After listening to her husband, Robyn agreed with him and said Kody had been taking accountability, which helped their relationship. She felt that since Kody went on the apology tour and acknowledged his role, it had brought him peace. Kody also thanked Robyn for her loyalty and admitted he should have apologized to her before anyone else.
Kody later couldn’t help but ask Robyn if she forgave him, to which Robyn said she had forgiven him. Robyn revealed that since she had been divorced before, she didn’t want to drag the situation out. He later admitted that the divorces that happened within the family could have been handled in a better way. For the latest Sister Wives tea, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers.
