Before meeting Meri, Kody visited Christine, where things didn’t go as expected. Christine’s husband, David Woolley, interrupted him and asked Kody to focus less on apologizing to ex-wives. He suggested that Kody should focus more on fixing relationships with his children. David is a father of eight himself and felt that rebuilding trust with kids requires effort and accountability.

Kody got irritated by the advice and later admitted he had set firm boundaries with both David and his children. He insisted his goal was only to apologize to Christine, not to discuss anything else, especially his kids. Not only this, Meri and Kody’s child, Leon Brown, also spoke about Kody’s apology tour. Leon claimed that Kody was lying about making an effort. They hadn’t heard from Kody since Garrison’s suicide and claimed he ignored them at the funeral.

After apologizing to Janelle and Christine, Kody was seen traveling all the way to Utah so that he could meet Meri. Meri wasn’t as welcoming as her former sister wives, as she constantly questioned why Kody was there at all. While she let Kody speak, things went bad again as Kody insinuated that Meri’s friends manipulated her. According to Kody, this resulted in them breaking up, which didn’t sit well with Meri.

Despite this, the conversation went on. Meri still felt frustrated that Kody was constantly apologizing and avoiding any real discussion. She felt this was a pattern that she had seen during their time together. Later, Meri tried to bring up his children, but Kody didn’t like it and shut her down. Kody called the topic “verboten” and refused to talk any more about it.

Meri later shared in a confessional that people change over time, and she expected Kody to grow from his mistakes as well.
