Sister Wives viewers have literally begged the franchise to come up with a spinoff solely for Janelle and Christine. They believed that watching them after Kody left would be much more interesting than watching Kody and Robyn. After all this, Mykelti finally decided to address these rumors and admitted that there were talks about it. However, she doesn’t really think that it would happen in the future.

Mykelti stated, “I think a lot of that is because the primary story of ‘Sister Wives’ is obviously the polygamy.” She explained that the show’s basic concept was polygamy and how the Sister Wives function together. Hence, it would perhaps continue to focus on that, on how these members would function as parents to the kids, and on other dynamics as well. Hence, Mykelti made it clear that a spinoff related to Janelle and Christine wasn’t really on the horizon.

Janelle Brown had made some cryptic posts in the past, and viewers speculated that she was hinting at her exit from Sister Wives. Amid all this, Mykelti appeared on the Growing Up in Polygamy podcast and decided to clear the air. She assured her audience that her family show wasn’t getting canceled and there would be another season. She further revealed that Janelle would definitely be part of it.

Mykelti revealed that Janelle has different mood swings regarding the show. There are days when she wants to have 5-6 more seasons, but there are times when she simply wants to leave it. She wants to focus on her farm, grandbabies, and her life after polygamy.

On the other hand, Mykelti noted that Kody was actively working on some of her relationships with kids, but not all. She added, “He groups us all into one because it’s easier than pointing a finger at anyone specifically or leaving anyone specifically out.”

According to Mykelti, the making of Season 21 was very different from others because of everyone’s schedules. She revealed that in the last 15-16 years, they used to film for two weeks, followed by a two-week break. But things have really changed during Season 21.
