In a recent sneak peek, Suddenly Amish star Kendra is not having the best time. She speaks with James and shares that she misses talking to her mother. As a part of the Amish culture, the community rules made her give her phone away, leaving her with no way to speak to her mom.

Suddenly Amish Has Its First Eviction! What Was The Reason?

In a recent Suddenly Amish sneak peek, Amish member James escorted Matt off the farm. This shocked everyone who had been standing in a circle, chatting just moments earlier. Matt was removed from the community for violating church rules. Matt is a divorced dad, which in the Amish church means he cannot remarry. Since divorce is not recognized in the Amish, it made him useless to the community. This led to his immediate exclusion and shunning without warning.

The eviction hit hard, and Kendra said they had sacrificed everything and become a family. Judah called Matt’s eviction messed up. His own secrets surfacing also concerned him. Additionally, online fans criticized James as annoying. Others argued that Matt should have researched Amish law more thoroughly before giving up his life and joining the farm.

Suddenly Amish Star Kendra Breaks Down As She Misses Home

On Suddenly Amish, Kendra Bates shares with Amish member James how she is feeling. She says that she is not used to not talking to her mother. In her former life, she spoke to her mother daily. Now that she has no phone to call her, she is feeling a bit homesick. Kendra reports feeling anxious and hasn’t been sleeping well since joining the community.

Kendra also notes that she wouldn’t ask for help unless it was absolutely necessary, but she is struggling. “I try to stay positive, but every day gets worse and worse”. Kendra and James step inside a barn, away from the earshot of other newcomers. Kendra doesn’t ask for much. “I just wanna hear her voice”, Kendra says. James understands where Kendra is coming from.

Kendra says she wasn’t expecting such feelings of homesickness. In the confessional, Kendra wants James to let her call her mom for just a minute. However, James informs her that the community doesn’t have a phone. They are building a phone shanty, which is a small house away from the community, to make calls.

Kendra can use it after they complete building the shanty, giving Kendra no specific time when the building will be complete. Kendra breaks down hearing this. James asks her if she will be okay.
