Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans is finally divorced from her ex-husband, David Eason, but it really came with a heavy price. The Teen Mom stars have been at odds for years, experiencing several issues along the way. Finally, after years of fights and negotiation, the couple decided to part ways and even divided their assets. After the settlement, the couple split their assets, and the court ordered Jenelle to pay $30,000 in monthly instalments to David.
This happened because North Carolina is a 50-50 division state. After dividing their assets, Jenelle had an upper hand in evaluating her assets, which is why she will have to pay David to equalize the amount. This payment is not alimony or spousal support but serves to divide their assets equally. Now, for the first time, Jenelle reacted to the financial burden placed upon her.

Jenelle Evans and Kenleigh Heatwole are back at it, trading shade online. The drama started when Kenleigh posted a sweet birthday tribute to David’s daughter, Maryssa. Jenelle jumped in, accusing David of favoring Maryssa over their daughter, Ensley, who reportedly has no contact with her dad. Kenleigh fired back, saying David and Maryssa stay close because her mom didn’t move across the country after their divorce.
That set Jenelle off, she called both Kenleigh and Maryssa names, even labeling Maryssa “ungrateful” while listing everything she’d done for her. Kenleigh insisted she was just celebrating a birthday, accusing Jenelle of jealousy. The exchange quickly turned nasty, with both women keeping the feud alive. Fans slammed Jenelle for overreacting and criticized Kenleigh for stirring the pot. Divorce or not, Jenelle’s drama streak doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
Jenelle Evans recently revealed that, unfortunately for her, North Carolina has a 50-50 asset division policy. So, even though she paid for the majority of her and David’s assets, they still have to divide them equally, regardless of the situation. In an exclusive conversation with Us Weekly on August 12, Jenelle said that people often don’t consider these things when they get married.

However, she strongly feels that people should think about prenups and similar agreements before saying “I do.” She believes these things should be more accepted in society, and that’s her opinion. The star further added that she’s happy this chapter of her life is finally ending and she can move on. She hopes her fans will learn from her mistakes and avoid repeating them.
Jenelle will have to pay her ex-husband more than $30,000 in monthly instalments as part of the divorce settlement. Furthermore, she will also have to pay off their previous joint debt, which amounts to $40,000. Jenelle and David owe the money to the North Carolina Department of Revenue, but now Jenelle is solely responsible for paying off the debt.
Jenelle is definitely facing the most expensive bargain for her divorce. And it doesn’t end there; she will also have to pay the remaining mortgage amount for their home, which, according to reports, amounts to $138,920. As of now, David has not reacted to the reports.
