Leah Messer from Teen Mom is having a hard time trying to convince her daughter to use a wheelchair. She previously broke down in tears when Ali refused to use her wheelchair. Ali is adamant that she would rather not go to places than go there in her wheelchair. It is understandable as Ali is in her teen years, and she sees a wheelchair as a taboo. She wants to be a normal teenager and is rebelling. However, to finally make her aware of the severity of the situation, Leah and Corey have joined hands.
Leah Messer and Corey Simms split several years ago and have moved on, but they still co-parent their daughter. They share twins Aleeah and Aliannah. The latter has a muscle condition, muscular dystrophy. Here, her muscles grow progressively weak. Hence, the doctor suggested she use a wheelchair and not stress them.

Aleeah further added that she got wiped out when Ali fell on the floor. Ali argued that they even fell on water. Later, Leah and Aleeah showed that they have reflexes that can hold them up, but she didn’t.
Teen Mom: Leah Messer And Corey Simms Join Hands For Daughter Ali’s Muscle Dystrophy
Leah, a while back, tried to talk to Ali about using her wheelchair. However, she did not seem convinced. Her twin sister, Aleeah, even joined the conversation and tried to talk to her sister. Now, it’s their father, Corey Simms‘ turn to join the boat. In the recent episode, Corey and Leah had a conversation with Ali. Simms shared that Ali is very vocal and he is very proud of her.
Corey reflects that Ali does not want muscle dystrophy to hold her back, so being confined in a wheelchair feels alien to her. However, for her well-being, she needs to use it. She does not want anyone’s help and thinks she is just like everybody else. The Teen Mom star further added that he feels guilty. He should have taught her to use a wheelchair when Ali was younger. Leah agreed that they should have normalized wheelchairs.
The co-parents also discussed how Ali has made more physical progress than they were originally told was physically possible for her. They talked to Ali about the situation, but she was reluctant to comply. Simms told her that any accident could be fatal for her and that she should use a wheelchair. Ali thought these rules were not fair for her.
Corey told Ali that if they feel that she needs a wheelchair, she must use it. Although Ali disagreed with it, Corey explained that maybe she felt like she did not need it, but she did. The former teen dad was adamant about the decision, and Ali grudgingly got in the car. Aleeah, however, hugged Leah and then joined her sister. Leah and Corey discussed that they just want Ali to be safe and sound. Keep an eye on TV Season & Spoilers for more Teen Mom news
