He described seeing many children whose situations won’t improve, noting, “A lot of kids here, their situations won’t really get better, and you see that walking around the Children’s Hospital,” in a post on Instagram. He also requested fans to pray for the other families and children experiencing similar medical struggles.

Following Maya’s surgery, he also shared updates on his Instagram about her condition. He thanked fans for their prayers and well-wishes. Cory said that he and his ex-girlfriend have been preparing for this hospital visit. He described their feelings as both terrifying, due to potential health complications, and relieving, because Maya would finally be free of her condition.

The Teen Mom OG star shared on Instagram that her daughter Maya’s open-heart surgery was successful, and doctors expect her to recover fully. “I want to give everybody an update: Tuesday, Maya had open-heart surgery and everything went well,” he shared. “Thank you for all the prayers—they were heard and answered. Right now, we’re still in the recovery phase,” he further added.

While at the hospital, he posted adorable photos of Maya on Instagram, asking for prayers. His “warrior” is seen in her hospital room, smiling and surrounded by toys. Whether cuddling with her dad or playing with a new toy, Maya’s bravery shines through. Her father posted a photo carousel showing her smiling brightly.

During Maya’s recovery, the family will stay with her for the week, sources say. “I’ll keep updating you guys, hopefully with only good news,” he told fans. Despite tough times, the former Teen Mom pair remains confident in their toddler. “She’s a warrior, and I know she’s got this,” he added.
