He further added that the penthouse cost him around $16 million. The penthouse consists of four separate bedrooms, and they purchased it to create one large room for their family. It is a five-bedroom apartment, but he again said that he knows it’s too small for their family size.
Talking about the room distribution, he explained that two of his children shared one room, and the other three boys shared another. He and Hilaria share one room, and the remaining kids occupy the fourth room. Hilaria and Alec share seven kids—Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, twins Eduardo and Marilu, 4, and Ilaria, 2. Alec’s family has expanded over the years since he purchased the penthouse.
He bought it for $11.7 million in 2011, and it covers an area of around 4.137 square feet. It initially had four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and an outdoor space. Later, they added another living room. In 2012, Hilaria purchased another apartment in the same building. She got a penthouse on the 12th floor unit in the same building for $1.2 million, so they can add more than 840 square feet of area.
