However, did you know that there was a chance that Alec Baldwin could have played Batman? Yes, you read it right. Alec Baldwin, in a recent interview with his brother Stephen Baldwin and his podcast One Bad Movie, revealed that he could land the role, but unfortunately, things did not work out. He also revealed that his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, has a role as Vicky Vale in the original Batman film by Burton.

Alec Baldwin tries his best to adapt to his roles. He revealed that to play a role in Blue Jasmine, he lost about 25 pounds. Woody told him that the character was a ladies’ man. So, he needs to look a certain way. The Baldwins star initially struggled but eventually lost a lot of weight.
He lost a lot of weight and even dyed his hair to fit the role. Alec revealed that he had not eaten pasta, potatoes, candies, or sugar for a long time. After regular exercise and a clean diet, he lost about 20 pounds. His wife, Hilaria, added that he was calmer while he was going to the gym.

Alec is one of Hollywood’s greatest actors. However, Burton felt that Alec was not suitable for the role of Batman. In his brother Stephen’s podcast, One Bad Movie, Alec revealed that he almost had the role. But things did not work out. He further explained that his ex-wife, Kim, told him that she had spoken to Burton about casting. Burton revealed he could see Keaton as Bruce Wayne.

At that time, Burton was looking for someone who would make Bruce more believable than Batman. The director was having issues imagining Baldwin in such a troubled character. Alec revealed that Burton said he wanted to get a guy who seems like you could understand him being more troubled. However, he didn’t believe that Alec had any problems in life. He then compares himself with Julia Roberts’s situation in Pride & Prejudice.
Alec explained that Keaton fit Burton’s vision of Bruce. He was definitely disappointed when he did not get the role and told his wife that he could have played it. Alec added that he said his wife, “I could have problems. I could externalize my problems.” He would have loved to play Batman, but it just didn’t work out
Alec further added that Batman’s portrayal has become iconic since Keaton’s performance in Batman and Batman Returns. He also classified that he enjoys Christian Bale’s movies, especially The Dark Knight Rises, and he also loved Tommy Hardy.
