The Baldwins: Shia LaBeouf Talks About His Beef With Alec Baldwin
Shia LaBeouf had major tension with Alec Baldwin during his 2013 Broadway play Orphans. In a recent interview with Hollywood Reporters, he shared that working with Alec was very difficult. The Baldwins star further added that he was prepared to play his role alongside Al Pacino and put his heart and soul into it. However, even Pacino dropped out at the last minute. After his exit, Alec joined the cast, which completely changed the dynamics.

Shia LaBeouf added that he was sleeping in New York City’s Central Park during his fight with Alec. He would spend the night outside and would show up for the rehearsal tense. When Alec came in, he was living in the park and was also on steroids. In no way was he in a good state. He was sleeping in with the horses beside the little fire basin. There was a whole lot of room around there for one quick chill session.
Alec had to deal with his fractured ego, and it was unfair to him. As per Shia LaBeouf, he had prepared his heart for two years and was desperate to show him all his hard work. He really wanted him to accept him as an actor, as he was very insecure at that point. Afterwards, even Alec got competitive. Shia accepted that losing Pacino from the play affected him emotionally, and this was the root cause of all the issues.
After a point, he was so heartbroken that he no longer wanted to be a part of the play. It was also very unfair for Baldwin because he had only two weeks to prepare for the role. It was very challenging. The tension goes to such an extent that, finally, the producers decided to fire Shia.
