Douglas has spent many afternoons playing with Kelly at The Cliff House on The Bold and The Beautiful. However, at the end of the day, he always returned back home. Thus, the charm of The Cliff House always remained intact to him. The fact that Steffy loves him and fawns over him also helped Douglas reach the decision he just made. If he couldn’t choose Hope and Thomas, Steffy was the next best choice. He feels close and comfortable with her. Moreover, he knows she would care for him and protect him at all costs.
Steffy was stunned when Douglas requested her to take him in on The Bold and The Beautiful. She tried to convince Douglas to choose Hope or Thomas, but he insisted on her. Eventually, Steffy relented and agreed to take him to The Cliff House with him. Finn, however, was a harder nut to crack. He had several reservations against Douglas moving in with them. For starters, he wanted to avoid getting in the middle of Hope and Thomas’s dram. Secondly, he felt like it would have a huge impact on their existing family dynamics. It’s a dream come true for any child to be able to live with their favorite cousin full-time. Thus, it’s plausible that Douglas would be overjoyed with his decision to move into The Cliff House at first. However, things could start to slide downwards as time passes on The Bold and The Beautiful. No matter how much Steffy loves Douglas, she can’t replace his mother, Hope. Nor will she try to. Hence, Douglas might start to miss Hope. The more he will see Steffy with Kelly and Hayes, the more he will crave for his mother’s love.
