Bittersweet news aligned for fans of The Bold Type- The Bold Type Season 5 is officially returning but for the last time. The news broke this January that three young women working hard to find their way in New York City’s media world would write a new chapter one last time. Until now, the show was exclusively streaming on Amazon Prime for UK fans. But now, Netflix has also aired the show on its platform to bring a new wave of excitement for fans worldwide.
The Bold Type has been on air since June 2017 and received joyous acclamation. The series also claims many nominations for its incredible storyline. It focuses on the trio- Jane Sloan, Kat Edison, and Sutton Brady struggling for their place in the Scarlet magazine. Throughout the series, they try to balance their career and romantic relationships while navigating their lives in New York.

We can breathe a sigh of relief as the trio will return to close the chapter. These include Katie Stevens as Jane Sloan, Meghann Fahy as Sutton Brady-Hunter, and Aisha Dee as Kat Edison. Besides, Melora Hardin as magazine owner Jacqueline Carlyle will also return, as well as Matt Ward and Stephen Conrad as Scarlet workers Alex Crawford and Oliver Grayson. During the wake of the COVID-19, the fourth season’s production abruptly halted, resulting in cutting the fourth season short by two episodes. It means there are some loose ends left for us to explore. The last we saw Sutton and her husband, Richard Hunter (Sam Page), experiencing some dire marital woes when she confessed that she didn’t want children. However, it turned into a deal-breaker for Richard, and he walked away from their marriage.
Wrecked Sutton then to her mother’s to heal her wounds and finally mingled with her married high-school sweetheart. However, showrunner Wendy Straker Hauser confirmed that Richard and Sutton’s issues would play a big part in the upcoming season. But fans would be delighted to hear that these differences don’t mean ending the relationship.

Last season we also saw Kat cutting the ties with her right-winger Christian girlfriend, Eva. Kat told Eva over the text that their relationship was much complicated to continue. The final run is currently in production as they are working remotely under the COVID-19 safety norms. However, the fifth season hasn’t received any official release date yet. Even the final outing would only be six episodes long than its previous seasons. So deeming the length, we can expect that The Bold Type Season 5 would air later this year.
