Pedro and Chantel started off as one of the strongest couples from 90 Day Fiance. Soon, TLC also promoted them with a spin-off of their own, The Family Chantel. But only after a few years of marriage things began to fall apart for them, and they got a divorce. Apart from the couple, the show has also showcased the storyline of their family members.
As per the looks of the latest season, Pedro’s mother, Lidia has been trying hard to accomplish something. She expressed her wish to find a husband for herself who is American! The star also decided to enhance some of her skills to do so. What did she do?
The Family Chantel: Lidia Learns English To Get Herself An American Husband!
Apart from Pedro and Chantel bringing in the spice with their storyline on The Family Chantel, their families are doing the same. In the latest episode, the former’s mother was featured talking about her new goals. Apparently, Lidia revealed that she had begun to learn English. She wanted to do so as it is a universal language. But that wasn’t the only reason why.
Lidia expressed that she wished to get herself an American husband. While talking more about this, she mentioned her friends told her to do so. They let her know how men from the United States remain “dedicated to their partners” and are “faithful” and “good husbands.” The side cast member revealed it was unlike men from the Dominican Republic.
She also mentioned how she was “naive” when she was with Pedro and Nicole’s father. Lidia said how he had multiple women and not a single man. The star believes that the men from her native country are very “womanizing.” In order to find herself a nice American man, Lidia began learning English.
In her confessional, Lidia mentioned she has already learned a few phrases like, “i love you,” “i miss you” and also “What happened.” The Family Chantel fans must remember how the language barrier between her and her ex, Scott Wern, created many problems. It might not be the case anymore for Lidia as she appeared determined to learn English!
The Family Chantel: Shocking! Lidia & Scott Back Together?
The Family Chantel isn’t the only show where Scott’s mother, Lidia, is featured. She got her own storyline in another 90 Day Fiance spin-off, Love In Paradise. Viewers got to see an American man, Scott Wern, travel all the way to the Dominican Republic to impress Pedro’s mother.
At last, Scott and Lidia weren’t meant to be, as they broke up by the time the season finished. They were quite turbulent, and the language barrier didn’t help. In fact, Scott also went as far as inviting his ex Lis to go on a vacation with him, which was meant for Lidia.
After all these shocking moments, Lidia dropped another bomb at her kids, Pedro and Nicole. She revealed that she was still in touch with her ex, Scott. In fact, the latter decided to come to the Dominican Republic again to meet her. So, it was very likely for their reconciliation to be in the cards. It was evident that Lidia’s two kids weren’t happy with this.
