COVID-19 Will Not Be A Part Of The Good Doctor Season 4
When The Good Doctor resumes the fourth season of the series, they will go on to see an environment where the coronavirus is under control. So, the characters will no longer need masks. They won’t have to follow social distancing either.
Showrunner David Shore says that this was a conscious decision to set the remaining episode of the series in a world where COVID-19 isn’t restricting them. In an interview with New York Comic Con, Shore says that everyone has been living with this for the past months, and he thinks that as an entertainer, he has the responsibility to provide a little bit of escape to the viewers. So, the rest of the season will not have COVID. When they come back, they will tell the stories of life and ethical choices and life and death.
What Would Happen in Good Doctor Season 4 Episode 6?
When ABC comes back with The Good Doctor Season 4 Episode 6, the episode will focus on Dr. Audrey Lim as she struggles to cope with the emotional trauma of COVID-19. Rather than dealing with it, she chooses to ignore everything she is feeling. She adopts a “business as usual” mentality. This is easier said than it is done.
Actress Christina Chang who plays the character of Lim, says that her character is trying to keep herself busy at the hospital. The idea here is that the hospital is her safe place, ironically when she is in surgery. She says that the first part of the episode will see her feeling like she is tired, overrun. But then, everyone is feeling that. There is a lot on everyone’s plate. Lim isn’t unique or special. She is just holding it all together. Then eventually, she starts to feel that she just can’t do it.
Continuing on, Chang reveals that Claire (Antonia Laura Thomas) will be the first to recognize that something is wrong with Lim. She would try to play it professionally. Chang says that the thing that’s very interesting about this whole situation is that Lim will have to balance her friendship with Claire and to be her boss. There is a hierarchy there, so she would be less vulnerable to Claire.
Lim will also have to worry about Shaun, who declares that he does not want to teach the new residents after the loss of Asher’s patient. Chang says that she is such an advocate for Shaun, and where she would be a lot more patient with the new interns, her capacity will be limited.
On the other hand, Alex Park had moved in with Morgan when he sold his home before the pandemic. Ever since then, he has been living at a motel. Morgan had invited him to stay in the extra bedroom. While the two haven’t been on the best of terms right now, their romance could grow closer over time. It is possible that Alex and Morgan might admit that they have a feeling for each other when more episodes of the series comeback.
