The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 6 is titled- “Vows,” and there are a number of questions about what might happen in the episode. At this point, it looks like the upcoming episode will be a rather notable one. The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 6 could indeed become the turning point of the story. June will be given yet another chance at freedom. What would she do? Will she choose that or stay back in Chicago only to be caught and sent back to Aunt Lydia? We will know soon. As for what could be coming up in the sixth episode of the season, here are all the details about it-
What Has Happened So Far?
The end of the fifth episode of The Handmaid’s Tale left all the viewers on the edge of their seats. By the end of the episode, June and Janine were caught in a bombing run by Gilead to dowse the rebellions. After that bombing, when June regained her consciousness, Janine was nowhere to be seen.
However, we saw another figure emerging from the smoke and dust. This was none other than Moira. The episode ended just like that. And this is the point where we feel that a big twist might be coming up in the story. Because of the way the episode ended, all the viewers had started questioning whether Moira was even real or not? And the upcoming episode, The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 6, will answer all of these questions.
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 6: Promo Out!
The new promo for The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 Episode 6 is out, and it reveals that Moira is real. She is out on the field with a group of aid workers, including her girlfriend, Oona. Now, what would happen? The promo starts with June, who does not seems to be okay. She is badly wounded and is bleeding. Even in that state, she keeps searching for Janine. The question is, Is Janine alive? Coming on that later.
Back to the promo, Moira tries to handle June and tells her that she needs immediate care. The scene then immediately cuts to the shot where it looks like Moira and Oona are arguing. It looks like rescuing June is against the rules. So, Oona suggests that they should go back and find a way to rescue her. However, Moira argues that June wouldn’t even last a week in the war zone.
The third half of the promo sees June and Moira as Moira says to June that they will get her out of there, and June says that she cannot leave without Hannah. Moira tells her that she cannot make her leave her again. The promo then ends, raising a number of questions for the upcoming episode. Would June be able to get out? If she does, will it be within rules? What would happen to Janine? We will know all of this in the next episode. In the meantime, check out the promo here-
Will June Be Able To Escape?
Until now, one thing that has been consistent on the show is June’s insistence that she wouldn’t leave Gilead without Hannah. Back when the second season of the series aired, the showrunner Bruce Miller confirmed that he sees June’s escape as a happy ending and believed that the story would be over if June escaped. So, they didn’t believe that she would leave.
However, between then and now, a number of things have changed. One major thing is Margaret Atwood released the sequel- The Testaments. It confirms that June escapes Gilead without taking Hannah with her. While that might not happen in this very episode, it looks like that will happen eventually.
Not just that, Oona also insists that they can’t take June, which means there is a hint that she might not be able to escape in these episodes after all. But there is always a possibility that Moira could manage to smuggle her alone? Viewers know that Moira already feels quite guilty about leaving June alone the first time. So, she might not want that to happen again.
Is Janine Dead?
Another big question that the fifth episode has left us all with is- Is Janine dead? By the end of the episode, when June woke up, she couldn’t find Janine. So, that makes us question her existence at this moment. The promo of the episode sees June as she says that she will not leave without Hannah. However, she does not mentions Janine. Does that mean that she has accepted that Janine might be dead and she would leave without her?
The writer of the show, Jacey Heldrich, had suggested in an interview that June will find herself alone for some time when she is in Chicago. So, this might be that time. However, there are a number of hints that point to the fact that Janine might be alive after all. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, the showrunner Bruce Miller had said that June and Janine would be the center of the storyline for the fourth season. So, it seems unlikely that Janine would die just now.
Not just that, Janine portrayer Madeline Brewer is listed in the cast of the upcoming episode, and she will be coming on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote The Handmaid’s Tale on May 14. This means that she is very much a part of the show. However, we will have to wait to see how her storyline plays out in the next episode.
