The Sister Season 2: ITV brought in a psychological thriller last year in October- The Sister. The show became an instant hit after the release hooking up great viewership. The first season of the show ended with a number of open-ended storylines. Does that mean that we would get The Sister Season 2? The lead actress, Amrita Acharia, and the creator of the show, Neil Cross recently revealed some information about the status of the show. What is happening to it? Keep reading to find out-

The Sister Season 2- Possible?

While originally, the horror-thriller series, The Sister was conceived as a four-part miniseries. However, the open-ended conclusion of the show made all the viewers wonder if we would get The Sister Season 2? In an interview with RadioTimes.com, Amrita Acharia who plays the character of Holly on the series says that she would love to be a part of the series if a second season happens. By saying that, she also revealed that nothing is in the works at the moment.

She says that she would love to do the second season only because this was the most fun job she has done. It was all because of the fun team. The actress says that the writing of the show is just very good. She would love to be there for The Sister Season 2.

She continued to say that she does not know about a second season. She is just as unaware of it as anyone else would be. On being asked if she thought that a second season is possible, Acharia says that they have a great writer like Neil and with him, there is a scope for almost anything.

Fans Will Have to Wait For the Show

The first season of The Sister was initially released on ITV on October 26, 2020, in the UK and later on released in the US in January 2021 on Hulu. Since the show was first released in October 2020, viewers were hoping that The Sister Season 2 would release sometime in October 2021. However, it doesn’t look like that will be possible. There are two big reasons why we think that the show would be delayed further. The first is the ongoing pandemic that could push the release date of the show further.

Another reason why we think that the show will be delayed is that Sister creator Neil Cross might put The Sister on the backbench because he has other projects in hand. In an interview with Express.co.uk, Cross revealed that he is quite busy with his much-celebrated film Luther’s return. Talking about his film Luther, he says that they want more of Luther and they will make more of Luther. He cannot give out the details of how, why, and when, but they will make more of the show.

What Would Happen Next?

Based on Neil Cross’s novel Burial, the first season of The Sister reveals a lot in terms of the narrative mystery. Viewers came to know that Bob was behind Elise’s murder when he was trying to find out about the occult dimension’s existence. His research forces him to push boundaries. At one point he creates circumstances around Elise’s death so he can have a conversation with her spirit. When Nathan comes to know about all of this, he does not like that he did not know about this for so long. So, he spikes Bob’s whiskey that pushes him into a coma.

Even after knowing the truth, Nathan cannot tell the truth about Holly because she is her sister. Nevertheless, Nathan and Holly come to know that they can conceive a child. It looks like a happy ending, but is it? There are a number of loose ends in the story that needs to be addressed. So, if The Sister Season 2 happens, we can expect the show to bring in a number of answers

The major questions we need answers to include, will Bob ever wake up from the coma? Will Holly come to know the truth about her sister’s death and Nathan’s involvement in it all? By the end of the first season, viewers got to see Elsie’s ghost in the backseat of Nathan’s car. So, would she continue to haunt him or would she cause a car crash and kill him eventually? We will come to know all of this in The Sister Season 2. We will keep you updated with all the new information about the show as it surfaces. So, you stay tuned.
