The Young and The Restless is approaching its glorious 50th Anniversary celebrations. It’s ongoing 50th season, the soap is constantly giving fans countless surprises. We have been regularly updating you with all the names that will be appearing on the screen to mark the milestone occasion. Today, we bring another name that is reportedly joining the ever-growing list of the loved stars from the past that are returning to the famous ABC soap. The name is, drum roll, Miguel Rodriguez!
Long-time viewers would remember Miguel as the butler in the Newman household on The Young and The Restless. He was an absolute hit with the viewers and remained a fan-favorite character all through its run. Actor Anthony Pena portrayed the role of Miguel Rodriguez on the soap. He started his duties at the Newman Ranch in 1984 and remained a formidable caretaker of the estate for about two decades! He was always loyal to his employer, Victor Newman. Miguel even moved to the corporate apartment with Victor after the latter’s divorce with Nikki.
During his days of duty on The Young and The Restless, Miguel had an affair with Esther Valentine, a maid at the Chancellor Mansion. Interestingly, we previously reported that Esther (Kate Linder) too will be reprising her role for the big anniversary celebrations! We wonder if Miguel and Esther will cross paths again and reignite their old feelings for each other! After all, there has to be a reason for both of them to return to the screen at the same time! Besides, it will be a nice nostalgic whiff for the long-time fans’ viewing experience!
In sync with that sentiment, ever since the news of Miguel’s return broke, Y&R fans are ecstatic. It’s so heartening to see how invested in The Young and The Restless fans are.
